There is an emergency on Ylläs' routes. And now we are not talking about a small emergency, but an emergency of tens of thousands of euros. The waves of inflation have hit the maintenance of routes and compared to two years ago, maintenance of winter routes costs 20% more. In the past years, route repair debt has also accumulated and the breakdown of old railway machines has caused new pressure to collect route funding. The maintenance of the routes in Ylläki in the winter of 2022-2023 cost almost 600,000 euros. This left a deficit of 86,000 euros.
In order for Ylläs to remain number one and the ski slopes to match, more money is simply needed. We would not want to reduce the number and quality of tracks anymore, and we will only do so in an extreme situation. However, the fact is unfortunate: if there is no money, not all tracks can be driven.
That's why we're asking for help.
